UI Health Care is committed to using technology to support high-quality patient care, improve outcomes, and enhance clinical and operational efficiency.
Digital tools such as telehealth, remote patient monitoring, mobile health applications, and other emerging technologies can help expand access to care, improve patient engagement, and support care delivery while maintaining privacy, security, and regulatory compliance.
As part of these efforts, UI Health Care has approved the use of certain AI tools to support clinical, administrative, and operational workflows. Examples include Nabla, a speech-to-text technology to assist providers with note taking, and Evidently, an AI-powered chart review tool that streamlines access to patient data. These tools are intended to assist—not replace—the expertise and judgment of health care professionals.
Clinicians and staff are responsible for validating AI-generated outputs, protecting patient information, complying with applicable policies and regulations, and ensuring AI tools are used appropriately and in support of safe, effective patient care. Approved AI tools are subject to institutional review and oversight, including evaluation by clinical, compliance, legal, privacy, and information security teams as appropriate.
